A year after Google paid $600 million to buy directv, the company says it is reopening its phones.
The company has been working with mobile carrier T-Mobile on a deal to offer a $20 discount to any directv phone customer with an account on T-Mo’s network.
The deal is the largest mobile phone discount offer since AT&T made $10 billion in phone discounts in 2013.
“As a directv customer, you can now get a $25 discount for a T-mobile account,” said a spokesperson.
“We’ve been very careful to make sure that you are eligible for this discount and that you’re eligible for any service you might need.”
While this deal is great for directv customers, the carrier’s own pricing policy for new Directv phones has a $50 monthly fee.
The $25 rebate will only be available for new directv phones with an active Directv phone plan.
It’s unclear how many of the affected Directv customers have already opted to get a new phone.
The directv deal isn’t the first time Google has tried to offer the best deals on phones in its online video service.
Google is now also offering $25 phone discounts on Google+ for new Android devices.
In July, the firm introduced a $30 savings discount on Google Search, but it wasn’t until October that it offered the $25 savings.
