On Friday, Verizon and HULU announced a $600 million deal that will help them expand their respective services.
The deal, the latest of which Verizon announced Wednesday, will bring Verizon’s voice- and video-calling offerings to Netflix subscribers, and Hulu’s subscription-based streaming service to Verizon subscribers.
HULO subscribers can now subscribe to Verizon’s streaming video service, which costs $5.99 per month.
Hulu subscribers can access Verizon’s video-on-demand service for $7.99.
The new deal is a major victory for Verizon, which has long struggled to reach customers who don’t subscribe to its video-streaming service, DirecTV Now.
Verizon’s new streaming service is more than just a new competitor for Netflix; it’s also a direct entry into Netflix’s market, and the two companies will have a strong, direct relationship going forward.
While Verizon’s deal has yet to be finalized, it’s already generating buzz among streaming service providers and Netflix fans.
Verizon and Netflix have been working on a similar deal, but it hasn’t been finalized.
Hulu and Verizon have a very similar business model.
Both service providers offer unlimited data plans to their subscribers, with unlimited streaming video on demand available on their respective websites.
The only difference between Verizon and Hulu is that Verizon’s offering will be exclusively available on Verizon’s networks.
Verizon has also announced plans to offer Netflix streaming video through its own streaming video app, called Hulu Plus.
Netflix has been very supportive of Verizon’s plan, and it’s looking forward to the opportunity to bring its streaming service into the Verizon network.
Verizon is still trying to make up for the fact that it has been losing subscribers to other providers.
Last year, the company announced that it would be dropping DirecVisions, a $1.99-per-month service that Verizon had used to bring video to Direc TV customers.
This fall, Verizon also announced that customers would have to pay $19.99 a month for Direcvisions.
These price hikes have forced Verizon to take a hard look at how it can continue to compete in the streaming video market.
Verizon is still in the process of evaluating how it will best compete in this space, and this deal shows how the company is looking to do that.
The Verizon deal isn’t a complete victory for Netflix, but Verizon’s move is a significant step in the right direction.
Verizon may not be the best streaming video provider, but its customers are still a huge portion of Netflix’s subscribers.
