AUSTIN, Texas — Telephone company Ardmore Telephone announced Tuesday that it sold the most iPhones and iPads in the United States in less than a month.
The company reported that it shipped 5.6 million iPhones and 5.7 million iPads to customers in August.
Ardmore said the sales were in line with its expectations.
“The continued success of iPhone and iPad is a testament to our relentless focus on quality, innovation and our dedication to customer service,” said Robert T. Shoup, president and CEO of Ardmore.
He said the company has been growing the number of customers in the U.S. and around the world.
The company says its revenue from the iPhones and iPad sales will be $8.3 billion for the year ending in September, up from $7.6 billion last year.
It says the iPad sales are expected to reach $3.5 billion this year.
Apple, however, has been reporting better-than-expected smartphone sales for a number of months, but has been struggling to make inroads in the market for tablets and smartphones.
Apple shares rose 4.8 percent to $180.95 in early trade.
